The primary objective of sex offender treatment is to mitigate the risk of recidivism by assisting individuals who have committed sexual offenses in comprehending and addressing the underlying psychological and behavioral factors that fuel their actions. This process involves fostering the development of adaptive coping strategies and equipping offenders with the necessary skills to avert future transgressions, thereby enhancing public safety through the promotion of rehabilitation and successful societal reintegration.
